Well the insects are officially back in full force and because i dont free range my chickens its my responsibility to collect them all so my chickens can have some good protein. Every time its moist i collect them cup fulls of pill bugs. At night i collect the june bugs attracted to the porch light. Whenever theres a scorpion in the house that ends up semi intact after i kill it i feed it to the chickens. they’ve eaten a lot of walking sticks that climb the walls of the house or shed so far. I also feed them the caterpillars and grasshoppers that are trying to eat my porch plants. I like to think that pill bugs are like little bitty lobsters for chickens. I mean, they are crustaceans. Basically im collecting them a seafood dinner. Hopefully it amounts to some good supplemental protein for them.
