
There she is in all her sassy glory. Half the size of her orpington sisters but twice the amount of attitude. if i open the nesting box to load one up at night…she will fly out and need recaptured, you can be sure. Americaunas are smart chickens so if you are used to orpingtons…you’ve been warned. If you get an americauna, you’ve now got to have your eyes peeled and your wits about you at all times. Do not leave the gate pulled to but not latched. This will fool an orpington but this will not fool an americauna. She is a pain in my rear, but she sure does lay beautiful eggs. And her cheek floofs give her an undeniable amount of character. You have to laugh when looking at her full on, especially when she’s in judgment mode but the cheek floofs betray the seriousness of her expression.
