It is exactly what it sounds like. The baby chickens graduated. Fully feathered and able to regulate their own body temperatures….they went outside.
Poor Sumac has to stay in the house until he is 18 weeks old because he is meant to go in with the older buff orpington hens who are already on adult feed and he is still on chick crumble and half their size so….he did not get to go out with the others on liberation from the bathroom day. I will have to socialize him daily so he doesnt become a sociopath in the meantime. Eventually he will join the buff orpingtons in their pen.
