A Moth Shelters from the Wind

One day this gigantic moth posted up in one of my potted trees on the porch. It started on one of the branches and dropped down to the soil. I wasnt sure if it was going to lay eggs and leave hundreds of tiny eating machines behind so i was pretty wary of the new visitor. I shooed it away a couple times, determined to save my tree. It wasnt until i set it on the porch floor boards for the third time that i realized why it had chosen the potted trees as a place to rest. The rim of the pot was blocking the wind. It had massive wings. As soon as i set it down the wind began battering it. It tumbled this way and that as it struggled to stay upright in an unrelenting wind. It was getting beaten around and its fragile wings were becoming tattered. It was waiting out the wind behind the protection of the pot rim. I decided to change my mimd. It could stay. I set it back in the pot and at first it ran away from me, viewing me as an enemy as i had been at war with it for a couple days now. I finally got it back in the pot flat against the soil and it stayed there another day until the wind ceased. Once it was clear, it was gone. It just needed some temporary shelter from the elements.
