I love Cricket and i know she loved me, but there were reasons i did not have a cat on the homestead and Cricket was quickly growing out of our living space. The plan was to keep her as an outdoor cat, before she started sleeping in the car engine. As in indoor cat, she’s messy, wild, and dog incompatible, so she was living in a dog crate in the bathroom except for times when i would cuddle her and the thirty minutes to an hour i would put her in her outdoor enclosure in the evenings. As she got bigger she wanted freedom more and more and she began yowling. I had to find her a way she could have constant company and space to roam. She needed an outdoor situation where cars could be locked away in garages or an indoor situation with a stay at home parent. I got in touch with a cat rescue and they came out to meet her. I think they loved her instantly when they met her as i did when i met her. She’s very sweet, but she needs room to roam and a mom that’s not gone all the time. They picked her up and took her to find a forever family. I gave them all her food and toys and blankets. I hope she lands with a great family. I felt very conflicted. I missed her and felt like i had failed her, but the silence was much craved. She was miserable in the dog crate and yowling constantly and it was driving me crazy. So, Cricket had been rehomed and i hope it ends up being a good decision for her.

Good for you–putting her needs above yours.
