A Weekend Shift Observation

Ive noticed something about the butch lesbians in my life vs the men in my life. Im just going to call it like i see it. if i have a problem and i mention it, the butch lesbian grabs the tool needed, fixes the problem immediately, and walks off with a swagger unmatched having demonstrated her manliness in handling sh*t and holding it down. If i have a problem and i mention it to a man he will first check to see if i am attached to him in any way because problem fixing is kind of a contractual obligation when entering into a relationship with a girlfriend or wifey. If im just a friend the man will then offer up the advice that i should either date him or date someone who could fix the problem. If the man checks for a contractual obligation and finds they are in fact dating me, they want to know what the reward for fixing the problem is. And that’s the beauty of butch lesbians. They are just as handy with tools and know-how as any man in a hardware store, but the reward is the admiration of the people on scene and the reputation of being one of those people that’s “got this” in every situation.

Now thats not a political statement, just an observation. Im sure there are many people who dont fit my experience of the two populations…I can only speak on people that cross my path and describe my experience of them. ive met a few men who are very kind and would help a friend in need without thought of reward…they just live far away and i dont spend much time with them. There are handy and lazy ones in both parties im sure, so dont come for me in battle gear ready for a fight to the death. It was just a humorous observation i had when one of my friends fixed all disasters that arose on the weekend shift…maintenance, housekeeping, and patient care. My other friend required a certain amount of response to his “charm” and an equally enthusiastic verbal greeting before he could be contracted to help with patient care.

When i bought the stock tank the guy in the home depot told me to take the leaking stock tank back to the feed store and get another one because he didnt have any adhesive that was both waterproof, stuck to metal, and was non-toxic for dogs. The butch lesbian working there took me to the aisle and handed me fish tank adhesive stating, “There you go. Water proof. Sticks to glass and metal, and if its safe for fish, its safe for dogs.” Its still working to this day. Im not related to or dating her in any way.

Maybe butch lesbians have figured out something a large population of the younger men dont seem to know yet. Admiration is not a contractual obligation that must be negotiated. Its a reaction to unsolicited displays of kindness and adult capability.
