i was taking the trash out one day when i noticed a pile of gray sticks in the soft dirt. Upon closer inspection they were perfectly good screws. I lamented the loss of even 1 stray screw when engrossed in a project in the yard. I wondered who on earth had parted with 12 screws voluntarily. Did they not know they lost them? Were they being chased by a mountain lion or a rabid coyote? Who on earth would part with an entire handful of screws without returning to search for them? Did they not know how much home depot was charging for a package of these things? I quickly collected them in my apron pocket and scurried off to my tool box. If someone wanted to leave 12 perfectly good screws in the dirt, i would gladly make use of them.
Two costs…monetary and time…..and the time, to me, is more frustrating.
